Initially, we did not plan a meet for this event but several of our 86s and BRZs did manage to show up. Here are some shots of our attendance.
For the first time, some of our members take the 86 out for a trackday, putting this car to the test for the first time. The weather on that day was warm and humid. The track was pretty dusty and humid as well.
A couple of the 86’es had their transmission and brake fluids swapped for something more genuine. Tire pressures were adjusted and off they went on track.
I just got this banner like a several minutes ago for the National Raceday taking place ‘tomorrow’ at the Dubai Autodrome.
It can be a nice spot for us to chill and have a little chat about this community and perhaps even meeting a few new faces?
The race will start in the morning but we can be there during the afternoon to check out the second run right after their lunch break.
Those going there will park at the paddock area so it will be easy to find and spot our members.
For more details check out the event’s timetable.
It was an action packed night but with limited camera equipment I couldn’t capture that perfect moment on the dark club circuit that night. In all cases the guys did impress us with their drifting skills and we wish them a great journey with their drifting career. Drifting is truly the motorsport of our generation and we expect it grow bigger and better in the future. Now that summer is here outdoor activities are going significantly down; we are left with evening events. Finally, special thanks to Yohaan for sharing some of his shots from that evening.
One of the good things about living or working around the Motor City is that any track activity can be heard from a distance so in-case you are not sure if you are missing something you will be hearing it. Though its not sure how some of the residents of Motor City feel about it.
There was noise today, a high-revving croaky-roar noise coming out of autodrome; nothing like the usual.
Went there for a quick peek to find out that Etisalat got their 3 seat 2GP race car back as a promotional event for their 100mbps internet connection.
Evolve Motor Club (www.evolve.ae) is one of the most outstanding auto enthusiast communities in the UAE, known for organizing and hosting a variety of events for years. The Fun-Speed Run is a speed test/autocross race that is organized for the second time by EMC’s members. The race was yesterday afternoon at the Autodrome Oval Track. The weather was cool & windy, after a long wait on the UAE’s winter climate to kick in and the track’s surface was pretty dry & dusty.
