Fritz and Sid have been working on this for a while and recently finished the head and tail-lamps on Fritz’s 86. The chrome garnish inside the tail-lamps was taken out and sprayed with a semi-glossy satin black finish. The finish looks brilliant and soon some high quality shots will be uploaded. Below are some photos that give you a glimpse about what the headlamps need to go through before they get repainted.
The front bumper has been removed to access the headlamps, which is not unusual on many cars but the 86 was expected to be a much simpler affair:
The taillamps were not baked rather they had to cut through the sealant. The rest is straight forward: disassemble the unit, spray the chrome bits, put everything back together and seal the unit.
