Just walked out from the official press conference for the 2013 Middle East Motor Tuning Show taking place at the Sharjah Expo Center. The show takes place from March 14 up to 16.
What’s unique about this year’s conference is the remarkable presence of SEMA officials along with local road & traffic authorities.
There might be a push to make matters easier for this industry to grow in the UAE; meaning a possibility to draft coherent laws and regulations regarding modified vehicles. For now, we were assured that rules and regulations remain strict for modified vehicles in the UAE; exceptions might be given based on basic inspections regarding chassis integrity, emissions and noise limits. Only time will tell how this year’s MEMTS could shape the way for the aftermarket and tuning industry in the UAE and Middle East.
